Dr. A. Charles and Carrie Lilly
Dr. Lilly, a long term resident of Summers County, WV is a graduate of Hinton High School. He is also a veteran of the US Air Force, enlisted from 1993-1999. After serving his country, he returned home to attend Concord College, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Having been positively influenced by the dentists in the Air Force, he decided to pursue dentistry at West Virginia University. Upon earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2006, he began his professional career in White Sulphur Springs. Two years later, he purchased Dr. Collins practice and has been growing his business ever since.
In March of 2019, Dr. Lilly completed the coursework and became certified in the art and science of Dermal Fillers and administering Botulinum Toxin A (Botox® , Dysport® & Xeomin®) through Esthetic Skin Institute, Inc. This area of aesthetics has become a regular part of his practice.
In June of 2023, Dr. Lilly and Carrie Childers were married and enjoy tending to their farm as well as working in the office together. Carrie is a long term resident of Greenbrier County, graduating from Greenbrier East High School and then attending Bluefield State College. She works in the office as Dr. Lilly's assistant. She has always been active in her church, particularly working with the youth. She loves to spend time with family, especially on the boat, and walking to stay physically fit. Carrie is an experienced gardener too and likes to treat the office staff with new recipes she finds for the produce in her garden.
An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Lilly enjoys hunting, fishing and tending to his livestock when not in the office. He appreciates time spent with his family and the friends who share his enthusiasm for farming and the great outdoors.
Following 16 wonderful years in his White Sulphur Springs practice, Dr. Lilly had a unique investment opportunity which led to moving his practice closer to home in 2020. He is happy to now be meeting the needs of his patients in the Lewisburg location.
Front Office
Laurie A. Palmer, Office Administrator
Laurie happily joined Dr. Lilly's dental practice in February of 2021. She has 13 years of prior front office dental administration and assisting under her belt. She is originally from Newport News, Virginia and moved to West Virginia after her mother remarried. Southern West Virginia has been home since 1987.
Laurie and her husband Mike, of 34 years, reside in Lowell, WV. They have 2 children, Justin and Emma Jo, who have a crazy 16 year split between them. Her son, Justin, is married and has a son named Carson who is the light of Laurie's life. Her daughter, Emma Jo, goes to Greenbrier East High School, where she participates in track, basketball and cross-country sports. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Young Life Christian Program are big parts of her life; Emma will graduate in 2026.
Laurie enjoys spending as much time as she can with her family and grandson and following her daughter in all of her endeavors, which keeps life busy! She loves camping and any down time she can get at home to enjoy the country life.
Laurie is glad to be part of Country Roads Dental Care, assisting patients with their treatment plans and helping them with questions about insurance coverage.
Kristy Bolt, Patient Coordinator
Kristy is a native of Greenbrier County and joined the Country Roads Dental Care team in the spring of 2021. Her bright personality elicits smiles and laughs from patients upon arrival. Kristy is instrumental in coordinating patient care with Dr. Lilly and other specialty practices that patients may need, such as endodontics or oral surgery.
Assistants & Office Coordination
Crystal Brown
Crystal joined the Country Roads Dental Care team in 2020 and brings many years of dental assisting experience to the practice. Originally from Williamson, Kentucky, she has been a resident of Greenbrier County for over 30 years. Crystal became a Certified Dental Assistant in 2005 and has also received certifications in coronal polishing, nitrous oxide monitoring, CPR and ACLS.
Crystal is married and has a son that recently graduated from Greenbrier East High School. She also has 3 step-children and multiple grandchildren too. She loves her down-time spent with family and friends..and especially traveling to explore new places with her husband, Tommy.
Hygienists
Halie Duba - RDH, BSDH
Halie joined the practice in September 2023. She is a graduate of West Virginia University School of Dentistry and received a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She is originally from Man, WV; however recently moved to Rupert, WV.
Halie believes in quality care and enjoys educating patients on the importance of oral hygiene. Halie is certified in basic life support (CPR), nitrous oxide, local anesthesia administration, bleaching trays, non-surgical laser therapy, and is a certified tobacco treatment specialist. She is excited for the next chapter in her life at Country Roads Dental Care!
Lisa Baker-Birkelbach, RDH
Lisa has been part of Dr. Lilly's team since 2013. She graduated Greenbrier East High School and then went on to West Virginia Institute of Technology. She graduated from the dental hygiene program there in 1992. A lifetime resident of Ronceverte, WV, she enjoys the long term relationships built through the office and community alike.
Lisa is married to Steve Birkelbach and together, they enjoy watching and supporting their kids in local sports. When not at the ball field, you're likely to find them relaxing with family at their camp along the Greenbrier River. Their family attends Elizabeth Chapel in Ronceverte.
Lisa is happy to see this new chapter for Dr. Lilly's practice moving to Lewisburg and loves greeting her patients in the new place!
Tonna Barker - RDH
Tonna joined the practice in August 2023. She has been practicing dental hygiene for over 30 years. A graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology, she enjoys educating patients on their oral hygiene and has a passion for helping people in general.
Tonna enjoys hiking and kayaking in her hometown of Fayetteville, WV. She has a love for nature and all that God has created. One of her favorite sayings is, "God's love letters in the landscape."
Tonna is happy to be a part of the Country Roads Dental Care team and getting to know the patients of the practice.
Amy Thornton, RDH
Amy has been practicing dental hygiene for over 20 years. A graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology, she joined our team in 2020. She credits her love of career and strong ethics to professors, Martha Shouldis, RDH, EdD, and Michelle Klenk, RDH, EdD. Upon graduation, Amy earned the West Virginia Dental Hygiene Association Scholarship based on excellence in patient education.
When not in the office, you may find her hiking on a mountain trail near home base in the New River Gorge. Amy began a Christian based hiking club in 2017 and cherishes the friendships experienced in the great outdoors. She treasures time spent with family as well as many creative hobbies such as writing, aromatherapy, photography... and her latest artistic pursuit: hiking videos for her YouTube channel.
She is delighted to be part of Country Roads Dental Care, working with an incredible team and continuing her passion of serving people by helping them to achieve their best oral health.
